Friday Favorites: 01.29.21

Technically, we're doing Saturday Favorites this week. The guest bedroom project was in full swing yesterday and I didn't get to finish my post or email. If, like me, you're having a cozy Saturday today, maybe you'll enjoy this late read.

Home Tour in St. Louis

My friend, mentor and inspiration Robert Idol had his St. Louis project featured in STL Mag recently and it is too good not to share!

One thing that is lacking in many modern remodels is focus on keeping the historical integrity of the home. Robert and his clients managed to perfectly execute a renovation that honors the past and speaks to the present.

A few of my favorite details: the Ralph wool used to cover the walls in the library (no, it isn't wallpaper!), the collection and arrangement of artwork, the wallpaper/trim combination in the dining room and the fabric application on the chairs in the piano room. Robert is a design genius and I think we could all learn a lot from his quote, "I try to make all of my interiors feel layered so that it looks like maybe someone did collect the furniture over time."

Rifle Paper Co. Mugs!

I always open my emails from Rifle Paper Co. You should too if you're in marketing and need some inspiration!

Anyway, they just launched these adorable mugs with gold accents. The positive = they're so cute and look more expensive than your everyday TJ Maxx mug. The negative = that gold will spark if microwaved and they are hand wash only. I would love one for a "special occasion" mug.

Cost: $18.00 each

This French estate you've seen all over Pinterest

I see this house on Pinterest alllll the time and I bet you do too. It was actually designed by Chris Reebals and Mack Braden of Christopher Architects and Interiors, a firm based in Birmingham, Alabama that I almost worked for when I switched from sports marketing to the design industry.

All of their work is amazing, just like this French estate. The before-and-after of this house is INSANE. Before you even look at the photo comparisons, appreciate the fact that the designers were required by the city to keep the foundation and the exterior walls of the original house. That means that this house fit on the existing footprint of that teeny "before" house and utilized the exterior and interior structural walls. That is crazy! People are so talented.

Coolers Color Palette Generator

I've had people ask me about color palettes before. I love the Coolers resource! You can find color palettes for anything -- interior design, wardrobe, presentations, etc.

Scalloped Sheets on Major Sale!

How I wish these sheets were taupe or sea foam green for my guest bedroom... They're on closeout sale from Macy's -- only $55.59 now, originally $140.00. If you could use a pop of whimsy in your room and coral won't clash with your design, go for these!

Cost: $55.59 on sale for full size bed

Petite Hammered Gold and Diamond Hoops

I love these 18 Karat hammered gold hoops. They're pricey, of course, but maybe someone is looking for a V-day splurge.

Cost: $1,500.00

Boulangerie Candles from Anthropologie

I took reader submissions for the seventh Friday Favorites item this week. Thanks to Molly for this amazing suggestion! Having worked at Anthro, I know these candles well. They all have unique scents and are worth the price ($18/each). Mine and Molly's favorites: Espresso, Whipped Cream & Pear, Vanilla & Fig, Oatmeal Cookie.

Find them here.

Cost: $18.00/each

Send me your ideas for Friday Favorites as you have them! Thanks to everyone who has so far.
